Fourth annual citywide service day
More than 200 employees participated in the fourth annual Generation WORKS day of service, presented by Deutsche Bank.
For the fourth consecutive year, Deutsche Bank was a lead supporter of the event which is run by Generation W, a nonprofit organization focused on educating, inspiring, and connecting women and girls through various programs and initiatives. Each year, the event mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to complete a host of different projects across Jacksonville.
“We are proud of our continued partnership with Generation WORKS,” said Brian Fay, Head of Jacksonville. “Our leadership in this important initiative is the ideal complement to our commitment to making a positive impact in the community. It has also given us the opportunity to build sustainable relationships with the many schools and nonprofits that we work with throughout the year.”
Under the leadership of WOWS-JAX, the local Women on Wall Street employee resource group, Deutsche Bank volunteers worked across six different sites including four public schools as well as JASMYN, dbPride's community partner, and Angelwood, a non-profit that provides services to children, adults and families living with developmental disabilities. The project work varied and included painting, landscaping, building benches, classroom makeovers and other organizational projects.
Deutsche Bank’s involvement in the community continues to expand through partnerships. This includes ongoing work with organizations like JASMYN. The bank is currently engaged in a mentoring program through MOCA Voice of the People, which is designed to promote literacy based achievement through arts enrichment among fourth graders at Reynolds Lane Elementary School.
