Free Arts NYC honors Deutsche Bank for deep partnership
Free Arts NYC honored Deutsche Bank at its 19th annual art auction event on April 11 in New York City. The award celebrates a uniquely rich partnership that has helped the organization multiply its impact.
Last year Free Arts NYC empowered 32,000 underserved children and families through its art-based mentoring programs. Nearly half of Free Arts NYC youth are currently experiencing homelessness.
Over the past 13 years, Deutsche Bank’s partnership with Free Arts has expanded into a network of support. Thousands of passionate Deutsche Bank employees have volunteered, and the bank has also connected several other companies and nonprofits with Free Arts.
Many Deutsche Bank employees have stepped up their support to Free Arts beyond mentoring to provide fundraising and leadership support. Deutsche Bank Managing Director Leslie Slover accepted the award and serves on the Free Arts NYC Board of Directors.
There have been milestone moments in the relationship that have resulted in growth for both Free Arts and the bank. In 2011, the bank hosted the first-ever in-office Free Arts Day. That successful event laid the foundation for what is now a central part of Free Arts’ corporate partnership structure.
Free Arts participates in the bank’s CSR Leadership Incubator, a talent development program for senior bank employees serving on nonprofit boards and the executive directors of their organizations. The Incubator seeks to build the capacity and sustainability of socially motivated organizations so they can effect positive change.
