Teachers as Leaders
Launched in January 2008, Teachers as Leaders was created by Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation in partnership with the City University of New York Black Male Initiative
Launched in January 2008, Teachers as Leaders was created by Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation in partnership with the City University of New York Black Male Initiative and the Schott Foundation for Public Education to increase the representation of Black males serving as New York City public school teachers. Teachers as Leaders currently operates on 11 CUNY campuses with 51 scholars currently participating in the initiative. Scholars are expected to graduate and become teachers in New York City public schools in fall 2009 and fall 2010.
