Frieze Art Fair
One of the most anticipated events on the international contemporary art calendar, the fair brings together nearly 200 of the world’s most forward-looking galleries.
Now in its third year, Frieze New York has already established itself as a global art destination alongside Frieze London and Frieze Masters. Deutsche Bank has been the lead sponsor of Frieze for the past decade in London, and sponsored its debut in New York in 2012.
This year’s edition of Frieze New York features more than 190 of the world’s most forward-looking contemporary art galleries, including 53 based in New York. Two specially curated sections of young galleries complement the main gallery section.
Frieze New York will again feature a Frieze Sounds section with several commissioned audio works, and Frieze Projects, ambitious site-specific works staged throughout the fair. This year’s Projects are by the artists Darren Bader, Eduardo Basualdo, Eva Kotátková, Marie Lorenz, Koki Tanaka, and Naama Tsabar. The program will also feature a special tribute to Allen Ruppersberg’s 1971 installation Al’s Grand Hotel. The fair will also host a series of talks and education programs.
The event will again take place in Randall’s Island Park, Manhattan, in a custom-built serpentine structure designed to maximize natural light. The fair will offer dedicated bus and ferry services and valet parking. Reduced-price tickets are available for the Monday of the fair on a first come, first served basis for full-time art students with ID.
