New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)

Since 1999, Deutsche Bank has partnered with NYFA to select an artist of outstanding merit living in New York state for a grant and art purchase for the Americas art collection. Chosen by a panel that includes members of the Deutsche Bank staff, the NYFA award reflects the Bank's longstanding commitment to encouraging young and under-recognized artists of diverse backgrounds who have demonstrated exceptional talent. Previous NYFA fellows include Joe Lewis, Patty Cronin, Carl Fudge, Frank Magnotta and Michael Wetzel. 

NYFA and Deutsche Bank have partnered in establishing the "Mentorship Program for Immigrant Artists", a unique program which reaches out to help immigrant artists across the city. The Mentoring Program pairs foreign-born artists with NYFA Fellows who act as Mentors to assist them in gaining information about, and broader access to, the New York art world. Mentors meet regularly to help their Mentees accomplish a specific task, such as writing an artist statement, creating a website, or completing a grant application. The goal is to help immigrant artists acquire the skills necessary to compete, and ultimately succeed, as artists. In the spring of 2009, Deutsche Bank celebrated the success of this program by hosting an exhibition entitled “Making It” at the 60 Wall Gallery, showcasing the art of both Mentors and Mentees.
